Two days after flames engulfed a warehouse on Strand Road, a fire broke out at a cotton godown on Rabindra Sarani on Saturday night. Six fire engines were pressed into service. Nobody was injured in the fire, said police sources. The godown is located on the second floor of a building which also doubles up as a residential complex. Residents of the building first spotted clouds of smoke billowing out of the godown.

They informed the fire brigade and started splashing water to control the fire. The godown was located on second floor in a building which also doubles up as a residential building. The fire created panic in the locality and policemen were posted to keep away the crowd, as the road was blocked for the fire engines. Six fire engines controlled the fire. Police said that none was injured in the fire. As the smokes were traced the neighbours soon swooped down to douse the fire and they spread water and firemen were informed.
